In questi ultimi tempi le Api paiono divenute il termometro vivente dello stato di salute della nostra terra: stanno scomparendo, sono in difficoltà, oramai in certe zone a Oriente l’impollinazione viene fatta manualmente per scomparsa dei pronubi. La scienza sviluppa piccoli droni in grado di sostituirsi all’insetto; il mondo corre, evolve, ma le api scompaiono. È già stato sintetizzato un nuovo miele ottenuto in laboratorio. Forse questo sarà il futuro, non ne avremo più bisogno degli insetti, o forse stiamo entrando in un tunnel lungo e buio dal quale sarà quasi certamente impossibile uscirne indenni.
Dal canto nostro invece, siamo convinti che la via più sensata sia quella che punta al ripristino di sani valori agro-ambientali, aumentando i canoni di biodiversità e promuovendo metodi di lavoro consoni alla sopravvivenza della specie e di tutte quelle che aiutano, seppur in maniera totalmente disinteressata, l’agricoltore in campo.
Gli impollinatori sono fondamentali per l’ecosistema e il ciclo vitale delle piante ed è apparentemente molto facile preservarne l’esistenza. La scienza ha individuato i fattori di rischio, i principi attivi dannosi, le pratiche agricole da evitare. Noi riassumiamo tutto in un’unica direzione, sensata, voluta e sostenibile: l’Agricoltura Biologica, in grado di minimizzare rischi e criticità legati alla coltivazione.
Certo non sarà l’unica via perseguibile, non sarà quella che risolve il problema, ma è sicuramente un passo fatto nella direzione giusta. Fin dalle scuole dell’obbligo ci insegnavano l’importanza degli insetti pronubi e le minacce date dal progresso, dall’inquinamento: se teniamo questo come punto di partenza e consideriamo che è passato molto tempo dai primi segnali d’allarme, allora è ora di muoversi, uniti, compatti, convinti di poter fare qualcosa di concreto anche a beneficio della nostra amica Ape.
